The 'Texas' DVD is a multi layered disc with 8 levels of music, videos and photographs to discover about TOFOG. But to discover all the hidden features and bonus footage may take you a little while, so here's some info to get you started in you investigation of Gruntdom …

The starting level - 30 Odd Foot - is the first place you will arrive when you begin playing the DVD. Here you will find the main item on the disc, the 78 minute rockumentary 'TEXAS', shot on location in Austin Texas and London England in the summer of 2000. Click the 'Play Texas' Title to watch this film.

On the 30 Odd Foot level, you will also find a Chapter List, which allows you to skip instantly to your favorite part of 'TEXAS'; an Audio option to listen to the film in stereo or in surround mode; and a visual introduction to this disc by TOFOG's own DVD Info Guy called 'About This Disc'.

The Drill Bit icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen is a device that gets you access to the lower levels. If you click on this from the 30 Odd Foot level you will be taken to the next level - 20 Odd Foot of Grunt. This is the way you 'drill deeper' from level to level - just click on this icon and descend further into the strata of The Grunts …

The Derrick on the left hand side of the screen indicates what level of the disc you are currently on. You will also find that you can access some levels by clicking on them from the Derrick. Others you will be denied access to, because they require special access pathways, but more on that later …

So drilling down from the 30 Odd Foot level you will be taken to the 20 Odd Foot level - this level contains music videos of songs from the Bastard Life Or Clarity Album, and if you watch for the clues you'll discover some old music videos we've dug up from the past.

These lead you to the 17 Odd Foot level. Once you have unlocked this level (simply by arriving at the main menu of the 17 Odd Foot level) you can re-access it at anytime by clicking on 17 Odd Foot on the Derrick at the left hand side of the screen.

Drilling Down further (using the Drill Bit icon either from the 17 Odd Foot level or from the 20 Odd Foot level) you will arrive at the 10 Odd Foot level. Here you will see a bunch of photos from the shows featured in 'TEXAS' and from The Grunts trip to Italy (as seen in the film '60 Odd Hours In Italy' - featured on one of the lowest levels of the disc). Again, there are some surprise features here, and if you watch out for clues and keep checking the website for hints, you can negotiate your way to the 5 Odd Foot level where you will discover whole new galleries of photos on this level, and then some …

Now you will notice that you can't drill deeper anymore from this level - there is NO Drill Bit icon on the 5 Odd Foot Level. Trying to access this level by clicking on the Derrick you will find that Access to these lowest levels are Denied … but stay tuned to the website as we give away more hints on how to gain access to these lower levels. And trust us it is worth it - what's buried in these levels includes the outrageous outakes from 'TEXAS', a range of photos we know you've never seen before, and the 25 minute featurette, '60 Odd Hours In Italy'. So drill deeper, keep an eye on this page for more hints and enjoy digging your way through to the heart of 'TEXAS' …

During the 'TEXAS' rockumentary itself there are a number of features and bonus discoveries that add to the experience of watching the film.Certain songs in the concert have a Multi Angle capability where you can switch between camera angles yourself using your remote control.

When you see the Running Man icon appear on the lower right hand corner of the screen, you know the Multi Angle option is available for that song, so hit ENTER on your remote and flick through the angles (using your ANGLE button) as you wish. Hit ENTER again to get out of Multi Angle mode and return to the main film at the beginning of the song you are in.

For some songs during the concert there is Bonus Footage you can watch while the audio of the concert keeps going. When you see the Drill Bit icon appear on the lower right hand corner of the screen, you know the Bonus Footage option is available for that song, so hit the ANGLE button on your remote and flick to the alternate visuals for a new twist on the film. Hit the ANGLE button again to return to the original film visuals.

There are a bunch of other bonus features like song lyrics and secret Australian translations … but where not gonna tell you how to find them just yet. You'll have to dig around yourself, or stay tuned for hints below.

Here is some general information about the disc which will help you discover hidden footage and secret pathways through the 'Texas' …

1. The Running Man icon is the resume button on every page - when you click this it will take you back to wherever you just came from.

2. You will occasionally find "Access Denied" screens that prevent you from going to certain places - this means you haven't unlocked the pathway to this area yet, so stay tuned for hints on this page for how to do this.

3. The DVD Menu button (or similar name) on your remote will usually take you back to the menu you were last at, if you hit that while you are watching a segment. But watch out, because sometimes this button will take you to secret suprises and bonuses …

4. The Title button on you remote will take you back to the Main Menu page - ie: the 30 Odd Foot Level, from wherever you are on the disc.

There are some traps for young players on this disc, here are some common ones to watch out for:

1. If you rewind or fast forward through to the middle of a song and then start playing it again, any icons that would be coming up at that point won't, because the FF or RWD function on DVD overrides the icon DISPLAY. You have to stop 10 seconds before the point in the film where the icon would normally appear.

2. When you access the Multi Angle feature you will find a slight jolt as you access the multi angle footage and also once you go back into the main program (ie: the the screen will freeze for about a half second during this transition).

3. Once you are in the Multi Angle feature if you want to go back to the main film, just hit ENTER on your remote and you will go back into the main show - however you will return to the beginning of that song in the main show.

4. Chapters - the easiest way to go to the Chapter you want is to click on it, once you have selected it on the Chapter Listing. You can also skip through the disc chapter by chapter too. But for technical reasons keying a chapter number in via your remote will not always send you to the Chapter you expect as per the Chapter List.

5. Once you have selected the Bonus Footage option - the one that enables you to watch alternate footage during the concert songs - you will stay in that mode unless you hit the ANGLE button and exit this mode. ie: When the Bonus Footage ends you will flick straight back into the main film with this setting still selected, although you won't be able to tell. So the next time a Bonus Footage option comes up (indicated by the Drill Bit) the DVD player will automatically flick to the Bonus Footage mode.
